Jumping into Testing an Innovative Methodology

This spring, the Parkours for the Future project didn’t stay still — it jumped straight into classrooms across Europe! Between the end of March and early April 2025, partners in Germany, Italy, Romania, and North Macedonia rolled out the first pilot testing of the innovative PAFF methodology, turning schools into playgrounds for fresh ideas and creative learning.

Across all four countries, students moved through digital and physical stations designed to open their eyes to the big topics shaping tomorrow: green and digital professions, sustainability, and gender equality.

Young participants created burgers with the lowest ecological footprint, developed bold strategies to convince upper management to make greener choices, uncovered the hidden costs of our smartphones, and got inspired by the stories of trailblazers like Frida Kahlo, Malala Yousafzai, and many others.

The Parkours for the Future methodology features thematic “stations” that invite young people to think critically and creatively about the challenges of the future. Through gamification, students explored ideas such as:

🌍 Green transition and sustainable development

💻 Digital professions and new skills

⚖️ Gender equality in career choices

Inspired by the urban movement of parkour, the methodology motivates young people to jump over obstacles and land in new knowledge — keeping learning active, interactive, and fun!

This successful testing round marks a big step forward for the project, which will continue to grow with more resources for teachers and fresh ways to empower Europe’s youth. Based on the valuable feedback collected, the partners will now fine-tune the parkours — and we’re excited to jump into full implementation this autumn!
